Alternative market organiser Tricia, who runs London Below, commissioned this piece to launch Hottie Vintage, her new plus size boutique. When she asked me for a plus size pinup paperdoll piece I was ecstatic, as its a combination of so many things I am inspired by and enjoy drawing.
Paperdolls are loads of fun to draw, but can be a bit of a technical challenge if you want them to actually work. This piece does work, so if you were to cut it all out you could dress the gorgeous model to your heart’s content. i spent a lot of time lightboxing and re-arranging the composition, but it was all worth it. I’m really proud of this piece and Tricia loved it.
The awesome Heather Chapman keeps telling me to do more paperdolls (its on the list…along with too many other things I want to create), but for now this is one of my best.
